GDPR — Your Data Rights

The General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR) gives individuals in the European Economic Area (EEA) specific rights over their personal data. Ikenga Academy respects these rights for all users globally.

Your rights at a glance

Right to Access

Request a copy of all personal data we hold about you.

Right to Rectification

Correct inaccurate or incomplete data. Most data can be updated in your Profile Settings.

Right to Erasure

Request deletion of your account and associated data. We comply within 30 days.

Right to Portability

Receive your data in a structured, machine-readable format (JSON).

Right to Object

Opt out of marketing communications and certain processing activities.

Right to Restrict Processing

Ask us to pause processing your data in specific circumstances.

How to exercise your rights

Email chat@ikenga.ng with the subject line “GDPR Request” and describe your request. We will verify your identity and respond within 30 days. Complex requests may take up to 90 days — we will notify you if that is the case.

Data transfers

Your data may be processed outside the EEA (e.g., by Supabase, Stripe, Resend). We ensure appropriate safeguards are in place including Standard Contractual Clauses (SCCs) where required.

Right to complain

If you believe we have not handled your data correctly, you have the right to lodge a complaint with your local data protection authority. In Ireland: the Data Protection Commission (dataprotection.ie). In the UK: the ICO (ico.org.uk).
